Secret Sounds Presents LPX
Electric pop queen LPX will be celebrating the new year in style playing Falls Festival but has also just announced she will be treating Sydneysiders to an intimate show at the Lansdowne on Friday 4 January.
LPX is the solo concern of former MS MR vocalist Lizzy Plapinger and co-founder of boutique record label Neon Gold. Emerging last year with her scintillating debut Bolt in the Blue, this raven-haired kaleidoscope of talent displays a knack for gutsy, electrifying songcraft all too rare in today's landscape.
She independently released her debut 6 track EP, Bolt in the Blue, January 2018 to wide spread critical acclaim. Mixed by both Rich Costey (Muse, Interpol, Arctic Monkeys) and John O'Mahoney (LCD Soundsystem, Metric, Kills), her debut tracks "Tightrope" and "Tremble" stormed onto the scene making waves on the internet in late 2017. While singles "Slide" and "Better" (a collaboration with Australian electronic artist WHAT SO NOT) have gone on to top the charts at triple j. LPX has performed a string of sold out headline performances and support spots for heavyweights Haim and RAC across North America on separate tours. And just made her festival debut at Fall Classic in DC, an all-female festival she co curated with Maggie Rogers.
Her recent single Might Not Make It Home which has just spent a month in high rotation at triple j including a week at #1 is an escapist anthem of the highest order, using chugging guitars, soaring synths and an unforgettable chorus to build a classic. "We might not make it home," she cries. "That sounds wonderful".
